Gaige is a pretty typical genius 18-year-old in that she knows everything. Well, okay, maybe not everything, but everything that’s worth knowing about robots. And like most people who think they know everything, she’s prideful, abrasive, and a little bit crazy. A self-described anarchist with punk leanings, Gaige does her best to fight the system, but optimistically. She’s the type who will fixate on one thing, like her planet’s youth science fair, and work her ass off until her project is just right. Her projects are her pride and joy, and setbacks are what lead to success, and she’d agree full-heartedly with Edison about each failure being a learning experience. Her creativity and gung-ho attitude also comes across with how well her projects work—when shown off, the features were all functional, if not too powerful. It makes sense then that nothing is more important to her than her own work, even to the point of blurring moral boundaries. But don't be fooled. Gaige isn't a sociopath. Sure her moral compass may be a little off but she actually genuinely likes people. Generally she feels comfortable with people older than herself even with her more childish personality. She teases mercilessly and relies on teenage humor, but being with people is one of her favourite things and she'd rather be a part of a team than alone. While she is confident and self-reliant, her emotional side can take over. Even when she’s at the brink of tears, her instinct is to prove everyone wrong and keep going. And angry outbursts usually end with her getting into deep trouble. Like many Pandorans, she believes that the end justifies the means. She doesn’t care if her and her robot break a few (hundred) laws as long as the end result is a positive one for her. In a lot of ways, this girl is still just a child with a lot more brains than she has world skills.
